E3 2012 Games Roundup

Hey, so this is a late E3 2012 post.  Nonetheless, I'm rounding up several interesting games that were "shown" during E3.

Avengers:  Battle for Earth

A motion-based game eh?  Not sure if I'll be jumping up and down if I see how the gameplay works cause nothing will beat the use of game controllers for these kinds of games.  Won't be able to try it cause I don't own a Kinect nor a Wii-U yet.  Something weird about the trailer is that there are several X-Men characters present.  I wonder if the Wasp and Ant-man are part of the 20 playable characters of the game.

The Amazing Spiderman

So it's another comic book/movie based game.  If you look at the game play it will sort of remind you of Rocksteady's Arkham City and Arkham Asylum games (Two games that I absolutely enjoyed playing).  If that's the case there might be a chance that I'll be playing this game.  It's scheduled for release in two weeks so let's wait for reviews.

Resident Evil 6

Oh. I'm playing this for sure.  I've been a fan of the RE games for a long time though I hated Sheva in RE5 and Ashley in RE4.  And I like playing as Leon than Chris.  Release is on October so there's still time to save up!

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

Something new.  Not sure if this is the first game that won't really feature a "Snake" as the main character but I'm glad it will feature Raiden. This going to be an action-packed-bloody-slashing game that I'll probably enjoy a lot.  It's nice that you can actually choose how you will cut the enemy. LOL Release if scheduled for Q1 of 2013.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2

Snoop Dog stage? Really? It's another Tekken Tag game.  I've nothing more to say.  I'll probably get it for the heck of having another Tekken Tag game.  This is already out in arcades.

Tomb Raider

Yay.  The emotional Lara Croft.  This will be fun as it appears more as a survival game than the usual Tomb Raider games we've had in the past.  The trailer will remind you a lot of the Uncharted Games featuring Nathan Drake.  Release is scheduled on March 2013.  Another year of waiting.  We've all been waiting for this game since E3 2011. :(

Those are just some of the game trailers shown during E3.  Another good thing is that no new PS console nor Xbox console was shown and announced to be released meaning we won't have to spend too much money on getting a new one.

Where are the other Square Enix games?

I wonder what happened to Final Fantasy Versus XIII.  It was first announced in E3 2006 together with Final Fantasy XIII but the game wasn't part of the line up of Square-Enix for E3 2012.  We've had 2 Final Fantasy XIII games already and we still have not seen any news about Final Fantasy Versus XIII except that Tetsuya Nomura(Square Enix game director) already asked for more patience with the release of the title.  Apparently, they are facing "challenges" with the new "gameplay" they are introducing (Kingdom Hearts x Crisis Core type of gameplay).  Oh well, we can't do anything now but wait. Oh yeah, we also need a new Kingdom Hearts game. LOL

What other E3 games did I miss? Share!

  1. Wolverine and Storm are a part of the Avengers now, so I'm not surprised they included them, and Magneto is a villain across the Marvel universe, not just X-men, similar to Doctor Doom and Kingpin. I can see why people would be upset though since you play an Avengers game for the Avengers, and most people consider Cap, Hawkeye, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, even Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Ant Man/Giant Man, and Wasp to be the real Avengers.

    1. Yup, the two are members of the Avengers (also Beast I think). I personally think it's great that they're keeping the "changes" according to the comic books. I just think they should've shown the more established Avengers members in the trailer instead. Haha. Nonetheless, without a PS3 release, I won't be able to play this game.
